I Thought I Just Had a Cold but It Was My Tooth
I felt off for a few days. Tired, light fever, my body ached. Just figured it was the weather or some bug going around. I didn’t take it seriously. Stayed home, drank tea, took some cold meds.
I thought it would pass.
Then came the jaw pain
After maybe 3 or 4 days, my jaw started feeling sore. Not sharp pain, just this annoying pressure. Thought maybe I was grinding my teeth at night or something. Then one tooth started to feel kinda weird. Not unbearable, just… not normal.
Still didn’t do anything.
I noticed a bump on my gum
That’s when I got worried. A little bump near the sore tooth. Swollen, tender. And I was still feeling sick. Not better. If anything, worse. Head felt cloudy. No energy.
So I finally booked a dental appointment in Coquitlam.
The dentist found the real problem
They did an X-ray and showed me the issue. Tooth infection. A real one. It had spread pretty deep. That’s what was making me feel so sick. I didn’t know infections like that could mess with your whole body.
They gave me antibiotics right away. I started feeling better in two days.
I had to get a root canal
A week later, I went back for the root canal. I was nervous, honestly. But they made it easy. Didn’t hurt. Took some time, but it was chill.
Now the tooth’s fine. No pain.
Lesson learned
I always thought tooth problems were just about teeth. Like, you’d know if something was wrong. But this one snuck up on me. I really thought I had the flu.
If your face or jaw hurts, or you just feel off in a way that doesn’t make sense… don’t wait. Could be your tooth.
I don’t skip check-ups anymore. For real.
